CBSL in Action
CBSL provides the real life transfer and practical application between the academic world and core societal issues. Ursuline students are encouraged to use their individual gifts, talents, and passions to be the change they want to see in the world. The program begins in the student’s freshman year with a minimum of 25 volunteer hours which continues through the sophomore and junior years, culminating in the Community Based Service Learning project as a senior. The senior student chooses a social issue of interest and concern, and then proceeds to create and implement a course of action that affects a positive social change to that specific issue. This year long project is a multi-disciplinary assignment involving community service, Religious Studies, and English.
